Education and Outreach |
|
Education is power. The North Fork River Improvement Association believes it is important that the community have access to the information it needs to make responsible decisions regarding the North Fork. Understanding the value of the river's natural resources allows for their responsible use. NFRIA is always searching for new ways to bring the river to the people. Through public events, such as the popular annual "River Awareness Float", combined with an active, up-to-date outreach program in print and online media, NFRIA offers many educational resources to the community in an effort to fulfill this goal. The new, user-friendly nfria.org, as well as presentations, posters, handouts, interactive maps, and interpretive signs along the river, are all a part of this effort. NFRIA also works to maintain an adequate flow of information to elected officials, other watershed and conservation organizations, and government agencies about the value of riparian conservation and the degree of success found in the various techniques and methods used throughout NFRIA's history. |
